About Rose Lorimer

Rosemary Lorimer is a warm, intuitive, and evolving artist whose creative journey began in Bermuda under the mentorship of Charles Lloyd Tucker—Bermuda’s first professionally trained Black artist and the founding art teacher at The Berkeley Institute. His influence continues to shape her artistic spirit to this day.

For many years, Rose's art existed quietly behind the scenes, woven into the fabric of her life. About eight years ago, she discovered pour painting and its fluidity, unpredictability, and vibrant community captivated her imagination. The generous community of fluid artists on YouTube became a source of daily inspiration and encouragement as she reignited her creative practice.

Rose also draws inspiration from artists like Gerda Lipsky, whose use of layering and texture deeply resonates with her evolving mixed-media work.

Today, Rose’s painting has undergone a renaissance. She is merging her love of fluid techniques with traditional painting and mixed media to create expressive landscapes that speak to the inner and outer world. Her developing style reflects a deep appreciation for texture, movement, and emotional resonance, as she continues to explore and refine her unique visual voice.

“Paint reminds me of the ocean tides, the flow of the wind through clouds, and the shapes of rain on our windows. It is the condition of our lives poured together in all their variety to create this fluid, ever-changing masterpiece called “Life." – Rosemary Lorimer.
